RTJ4D Contest
The RTJ4D contest was created by the hip-hop duo, Run The Jewels and Sketchfab. The contest goal was to take the original 3D models from the RTJ4 album cover and remix them. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to do a diorama-type scene. Something that needs to be viewed in 3d and not in a single still picture. The angularity of the hands made me think of crystals. Then I got the idea to do a dragon guarding its loot. Due to the deadline, I had to scale back the project scope to only the dragon's head. Everything was sculpted and modeled in Blender, baked in Marmoset, and texture in Substance Painter. I didn't win the contest, but I'm still proud of how this one came out.
